Internet Gaining on Popularity

I stumbled upon an informative website that offers data pertaining to internet users all around the world. Basically it estimates how many users are on each continent among other things. Analyzing the data lead to some interesting discoveries. Speaking from experience I an say that there is a common misconception among Americans that they constitute the majority of Internet users and that North America has the most Internet users. This was probably true many years ago, but during the last decade (2000-2008) the number of internet users in Africa, Asia and Europe grew 882%, 346% and 231% respectively. On the other hand, the number of Internet users in North America grew by 120%. Other continents are catching up to North America and actually Asia and Europe already have more Internet users then North America has. Of course, another factor is how many hours per day a person is using the Internet.
